Prince William Sound Cruises & Tours Blackstone Glacier Cruise was recently awarded “Princess Cruises 2005 C.R.U.I.S.E. Award” out of the Port of Whittier. A presentation ceremony will be conducted onboard the Island Princess on September 3, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. The ceremony will include a tour of the ship, a presentation of the award and lunch.

The C.R.U.I.S.E. Award is given to tour operators, for the following qualities: Courtesy, Respect, Unfailing In Service, and Excellence wherever you go. Each season, Princess Cruises awards shore excursion companies that meet and surpass passenger expectations and provide excellent service.

“Even though our passengers have recently had a great cruise on the Princess ships, they really enjoy our Blackstone Glacier Cruise because it allows them to see the areas the large ships can’t get to and offers a completely different perspective from our decks,” says Kelly Bender, general manager of Prince William Sound Cruises & Tours. “Blackstone Bay is really spectacular and our guests love this trip.”

The Blackstone Glacier Cruise takes guests through a magnificent glacially carved fjord to visit two active tidewater glaciers. The cruise features a lesson in marine science, during which guests can view plankton underneath a microscope and participate in experiments with glacial ice. Guests aboard the Blackstone Glacier Cruise also enjoy a delicious Alaska halibut lunch as they cruise the calm waters of Prince William Sound.
